The house is located at the edge of a peaceful old hilltop hamlet, Fijeroga, in the heart of unspoilt rural Slovene Istria, known also as the »Slovene Provence«. The house is surrounded by an extensive garden with beautiful views over vineyards and olive groves to the Adriatic Sea. The south-westerly exposure offers the warmth of the Mediterranean sun throughout the day, and unforgettable sunsets. Attractive coastal towns, like the intact Venetian jewel of Piran, are only a few kilometres away.

The surrounding vineyards and olive groves are not just a feast for the eyes; they also produce fine wines and top quality olive oil. There are several wine shops in the vicinity selling local produce and a good restaurant serving local specialities, including fish.

The unspoilt nature of the Dragonja River Valley, a national park, can be seen by bicycle or on foot. The old coastal towns of Koper, Izola and Piran are a mere 10 to 20 km away.
