This charming old village house is located in the heart of the Karst region in a small village Krajna vas, only a short drive away from busy Trieste (Italy) and Ljubljana (Slovenia). The house was built more then 150 years ago by a local farmer and restored by the current owners, who renovated every intimate detail.

The house has a typical karst house structure with an L shaped building and a garden in the middle. When entering through the main gate you find yourself in a hidden garden where you can find peace and tranquillity. The intimacy of this garden attracted many famous people who spent their vacations with the owners to enjoy the privacy. Many of them even left small signatures, which can be found throughout the house.

Visitors of the area are tempted to explore the surrounding old villages and unspoiled nature, on foot, by bike (that is available as well) or even on a back of  a horse. Golf fans are welcome to visit one of the Slovenian most fameous golf courts in Lipica, which is less than 20 min. drive away. Culinary delights are guaranteed by excellent local restaurants.

Festivals and special events are organised all over the year.

10th August - 12th August: The feast with teran and pršut is held every year in a near by village Dutovlje. This is a three day celebration where you can enjoy local food and wine. Every year many concerts and other attractions are organized and it is one of the main events around.

6th November – 11th November: “Martinovanje” - during this time we celebrate the “birth” of new wine and many events are organized that weekend.

End of September - In September farmers pick the grapes and start the process of the wine-making. Our guests can join one of the local wine growers and enjoy this unique experience.

October - November: In the fall many locals open their doors for eight days to offer food and drinks made on their farm. This is something special and unique; they only get the license to operate those eight days and you get the chance discover your own favourite wine maker. These farms are marked with signs “Osmica”, which means that besides wine, they offer lunch and dinner.
